First Line Of Defense

Let’s go shopping:

Your shopping cart is your first line of defense against the harmful chemicals and additives that mankind is introducing you and your family to. The alternative to shopping in the stores is to have a garden where you produce with God’s blessings everything needed to sustain your body. God tells us in His word that He will meet all of our needs… So why are we not trusting God for His grace and mercy?

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables:

Many fresh fruits and fresh vegetables can be found locally along the roadside stands, these are a great source of nutrition. Organically grown foods are far better for your body that the ones found within your local supermarkets. Ask yourself: Do I know what chemicals were used in the process of growing and processing these items? Fresh or frozen are far better than canned items. Think about what God has provided for us to consume!! He has already met our needs both spiritually and nutritionally.

Let's look at Grains (Flour):

Your cart should also contain stone ground grains. Soy flour is complete high protein flour. White flour as discussed earlier has incomplete protein in it and it has been emptied of all necessary nutrients. Stone ground grains, what are they? How do I find them? It is really simple; first take the time to read the labels. Honey, maple syrup, molasses are all natural sweeteners. They contain nutrients that the body can use on a daily basis.

Natural Sweeteners:

White sugar is empty of nutrients. Check out the brown sugar, it contains nutrients that the body can utilize. Why are we putting foods into our bodies that are useless to our bodies needs? When shopping for juices look for 100% fruit juice, they contain no additives. Bottled or frozen juices are 100%; just make sure you read the labels. Nutrients are there because the body requires them to perform as necessary to sustain disease free life. God made the fruit trees, which provide fruit containing the nutrients needed, but again man is changing that which God created.

Let’s take a look at the Meats:

Lean meats, fish, and poultry. Man once again has chemically altered our meats that we consume. So if you can find a store that sells meat grown organically, it would be a better choice than consuming meat found in today’s markets. The body needs proteins found in the meats in order to strengthen the blood vessels. Meats contain complete proteins, which the body requires. Fish is perhaps the best source of protein one could add to their diet. Liver is also another important source of protein. All of these are important in order to rebuild the temple.

Dairy Products:

Calcium is another vitally important item necessary for our bodies. It strengthens our bones and supplies the necessary nutrients for the body. Certified fresh milk is the best you can do, however, if not able to find fresh milk, then choose whole milk to have your family consume. The idea is to put whole foods into the temple of God, not foods created or treated with chemicals that actually destroy His temple.

Avoid hydrogenated fats. No margarine, because in reality it’s bad for the body. It’s best to use real butter. Do you know how much fat content margarine actually contains? Read the label next time you’re in the store, you’ll find the truth to be shocking.

Yogurt, when filling your shopping cart with yogurt, why not buy plain yogurt and add fruit and honey to it for taste? Make sure that you read the labels, if man has added a chemical, a preservative and or dye, then leave it alone. Leave it at the store; don’t waste your money on something that will poison your body.

Oil of Life:

When cooking, we need to use vegetable oils such as corn oil, sunflower oil, peanut oil, and soybean oil. When you can find them use cold pressed oils. The body needs vegetable oil to function properly. The lack of it can cause all sorts of diseases within the body including obesity. One tablespoon of vegetable oil will keep you from craving foods harmful to your body.

Our bodies require six tablespoons of oil per day in order to have health hair and skin, to keep the body functioning the way God designed it to. The consumption of vegetable oils helps our bodies to clean out the years of buildup in or veins that have been caused by the consumption of white sugar and hard fats. If you have a high cholesterol stop eating white sugar.

Natures Herbs & Spices:

Purchase spices, cocoa, herbs, and iodized salt. Iodized sea salt if you can find it. Learn to cook with more herbs and spices; it will make for healthier bodies. Don’t rely on chemicals and who knows what else man has added to the foods that most people put into their bodies. Use sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes. Start looking for foods that are not white to eat. Stop consuming empty foods (foods that contain little or no nutrients) into your body. Why not use the foods that God created since the beginning of time, just the way He created our food supply?

When we pray to God to fill us with the Holy Spirit, shouldn’t we have a temple that is strong and ready to do battle spiritually? A body that is fed by the wonderful nutritional foods that God created and provides for us makes a great temple for our God.

Read the label. If it is empty of nutrition, don’t dishonor yourself by putting it into your body (the temple of God). God has already provided the foods we need necessary to sustain life as created by Him.

Empty Foods = Empty Life Source

The following is a list of foods, which will bring about an empty life source (no nutritional value) and may result in cravings, health problems and even discontentment. The foods listed can be found being advertised throughout the media on any given day.

The final goals for these advertisements are not to help the human race to increase nourishment for their bodies, but rather to make money for someone or some company. The companies don’t care about you or your nutritional needs; they only care about increasing their money flow.

  • White Flour (all)
  • Processed Meats
  • White Sugar (all)
  • Hot Dogs
  • Hydrogenated Fats Found in: Margarine, Shortening, Most Potato Chips, Bologna, Cold Cuts and TV Dinners
  • Soda (all)
  • Skim Milk
  • Diet Soda (all)
  • Jell-O
  • Cool Aid
  • Donuts
  • Cookies
  • Cakes
  • Fruit Flavored Drinks
  • Preservatives / MSG
  • Candy made w/white sugar
  • Chemicals
  • Processed Cheeses
  • Dyes and Artificially Flavored Foods
  • Velveeta Cheese
  • American Cheese
  • Artificial Sweeteners
  • Artificially Sweetened Foods
  • Processed Cheese Foods
  • Carmel coloring

How many of these foods are in your kitchen? How many of these foods do you believe or have been taught are foods that are good for you? How many of us have doctors uneducated in nutrition recommend these types of foods for us and our families?

We’re not trying to change your minds about what your putting into the temple of God, but rather trying to educate people in a busy time by showing them that the food supply that our Father created is still available to each of us, the choice is yours!!!
