God
When
I think about you
a smile washes over my face,
When I'm sad
you cheer me up.
When I'm bored
your words entertain me,
When there's a problem
you fix it.
When everyone else is gone
you're always with me,
When I'm wrong
you help me to understand why.
When I have pain
you ease it,
When I need guidance
you point me in the right direction.
When I'm angry
you calm me down,
When I cry
you dry me
tears,
When I need
you
you're
always there,
When I pray
you always
answer me..

Sunset
As
I sit here and watch it
it dims and shies away,
It slowly fades
below the horizon.
After a few minutes I see less of it
it's disappearing
right before my eyes,
I keep my eyelids open
resisting the urge to sleep.
It's on its way to China
as I see the last rays,
Its beautiful fading light slip away
I know that somewhere.
Someone is sitting, watching,
a sunrise.

Smile
If you pass it on
you'll get it right
back,
It's wide and bright
and shows true
happiness,
along with your teeth.
They shouldn't be smug
or making fun or
mocking.
It should be warm
and welcoming
It's a nice accessory,
and you should always
wear one
I never leave without
it.
They're not refundable
and you can't get
yours back,
Having one is good
and they are always
understood.
They cheer people up
even the saddest of
bums,
they bring people
together
and start
conversations
so smile and make
someone's day

Birds
Birds, they fly
in the sky
they look so
free,
and fly so high
they flock
together
and never look
down.
They rule the
sky
like fish in the
sea
If you look up
your most likely
to see one.
Don't you wish
you could be one?
they fly for
hours
and occasionally
stop to rest
they don't worry
about food
for that God
provides
they stick
together
and are free
forever
they answer to
no one
and brave the
tough weather
they make an
occasional sound
but to earth
they are never bound.
They rise up on
wings
and sing us a
song
It's so pretty.
We wish we could
sing along
we can never
catch them
though hard we
may try
all we can do is
look
then say
good-bye
