... Frequently Asked Questions...

Praise God that we're able to share some of the most frequently asked questions with you today. The truth is that there are answers for every question asked; all we must do is to diligently seek God’s answers within the Word of God!!! Jesus tells us: “Ask and thou shall receive”

Q. What does a Christian have that I don’t have?

Think about the name Christian! The first answer that comes to mind is that we have Jesus Christ in our lives. We have a guarantee (promise) of eternal (ever lasting) life, joy, peace and happiness. We have the love that comes only from God; we have His support and guidance in our daily lives. We have chosen freely to believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, was sent by God, born of a virgin, died on a cross for our sins, rose from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. We accept salvation (eternal life) because Jesus Christ assumed our guilt and sins on His shoulders and paid the price for sin (which is death). Because of the price that Jesus paid, we are now sinless in God’s eyes and are able to receive His blessings.

Q. So what is this promise of eternal life all about?

It is a promise made to us that we have overcome death. We Christians will never again fear death, because death has already been defeated at the cross by Jesus Christ the Son of God. We have been promised and guaranteed a place which has already been prepared for all eternity where we will never again know sickness, sadness, worry, pain or discomfort. A place where there is nothing but joy and peace, happiness and praise, singing, and worshiping of God almighty. Jesus has already gone before us to prepare this place; our reservation has already been made… Glory to God…

Q. Okay, so what does it cost to be part of this group, or to enjoy this eternal life?

The price has already been paid. The cost for this was death for the bible tells us “the wages of sin is death.” Jesus Christ has already paid the price for you and every one else. The bible also tells us “the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.” All we have to do is to accept it! It’s free to every believer no catch, no hassle and no kidding! Jesus Christ is the center of a Christian life, and lives within each Christian empowering us with the Holy Spirit. The bible tells us “Greater is He that is in me… than He that is in this world.” We must live a Christ like life; we must avoid sin and the sinful nature of man. Jesus tells us in the bible that we shall be ridiculed, persecuted, imprisoned, and even killed for our belief (his names sake). Jesus warns us that we shall face many temptations, trials and tribulations, but that through God all things are possible. But God tells us that we shall be rewarded for standing faithful and true, for our rewards shall be in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Q. Why have I lost the joy on the inside that Jesus Christ gives to each Christian anymore?

The truth is you have never loose the joy that Jesus Christ gives to each of His believers, we just simply put it aside or out of the way. Why would Christians do something like that? The father of lies sneaks in to our lives (usually through a back door) and the trials, tribulations and temptations begin. He replaces the joy with despair, lack of concern with worries, happiness with sorrow and even thoughts of unworthiness. Satan (the father of lies) places ideas and thoughts into our thinking process and this takes our focus off of Jesus and our human nature begins to take over. The bible tells us “the Spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Since we have now convinced ourselves that we are unworthy of Jesus, His love, and His comfort, we try to cope with our burdens without Him. Therefore you understand that our joy has not gone away, but simply been replaced by the world (flesh).

Q. How do I get that joy to once again surface within my heart?

First you must understand that God’s joy never left, you simply turned away from it. To get your joy back… simply focus on Jesus Christ; worship the Lord of Lords, and King of Kings. Through worship and praise we open our hearts and souls to the Holy Spirit. Praise God for all the blessings He has given, Worship our Creator, our Father with all your heart. When we lift our hearts up to God in praise and worship we release ourselves from our human side and allow the spirit of God to heal us. Remember that God is Spirit and the closer you get in spirit the more powerful His joy becomes… Simply get out of the flesh and get back into the Spirit… then watch the unspeakable joy overcome!!!

Q. Why is Satan always tempting me with trials and tribulations, which could cause me to backslide?

Our Lord Jesus Christ tells us many times in the word of God that we shall be tempted with trials and tribulations. First I would like to say that as long as your being tempted you’re not defeated. When the temptations stop you’ve been defeated, Satan has won. Satan doesn’t want the sinner, he wants to cause the Christian to stumble and fall from God’s glory, and He wants to keep us from God’s everlasting Grace. The truth is “Satan billows with pride each time he pulls a Christian from the grace of God.” He accomplishes this by placing roadblocks, trials, tribulations and temptations in front of us. God has given us the freedom to choose so Satan is simply testing our faith, our trust in God and our sincerity to serve a risen Savior. To beat the temptations, trials and the tribulations: get out of the flesh and get in the Spirit!!!

Q. My Pastor keeps talking about faith, how would you explain this faith in Jesus to a sinner like me?

Faith is walking into a room and sitting down in a chair without checking to see if it will hold up under your weight. You trust the chair will support you because of what you’ve learned by reading or personally have experienced. The trust we have in Jesus Christ is based on documented experiences coming from the word of God. We believe what we’ve read, because God said it, and God does not lie! The word of God tells us that Jesus Christ, the Son of God is the intercessor between God and Man, and again we must remember that God can’t lie so with truth comes faith. Faith is based on honesty and trust, it doesn’t matter what you’re discussing or the situation your in, the fact is that if you have faith in something you trust it! Since we Christians believe God’s word to be the truth, then our faith comes from hearing the word. Think of Christianity this way:

llowing

I
ntercession

Q. How much faith do I need and how do I get this faith?

Jesus Christ tells us in the word of God and through many of His teachings that all we need is faith the size of a mustard seed. In reality a mustard seed is very small, which means you don’t have to have much. Isn’t that a powerful statement? The good news is the closer you walk with God the more your faith grows and will continue to grow. The best way to increase your faith is to get into the word of God. The bible tells us “faith comes from hearing, and hearing comes from the word of God.”
