... In God We Trust ...

IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans. However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America. Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants. However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.

As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle.

Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great American freedom, “THE RIGHT TO LEAVE”.

If America really is still the Country of choice; how much longer will it remain so if we continue to make cultural changes forced on us by those from other countries? We’re speaking of people making choices to come live in America because it’s the Country of Choice? Is it really the Country of Freedom and the Land of opportunities? I guess one could use the old cliquey: “If you don’t like it… just wait it will change” to describe our culture! Think about it . . .

We have a Great Nation which was founded on Christian/Judea Philosophy which our forefathers believed in their hearts would help insure Life, Liberty, Justice and the American way. What has happened to OUR culture that was fashioned from the birth of this Great Country? Have we turned blind eyes toward our Government, allowing the influential to mold this Great Nation?

    Our First Amendment right:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances”.

The Judicial System and the Legislative Branch of government are violating our First Amendment rights? Is it necessary to change our cultural heritage violating the rights of millions of Americans? We have judges… some appointed and some elected that are molding our society and culture to their standards… not the peoples! It’s time for Americans to stand United and stop this insanity!

Here are some examples of such:

  • Being forced to remove such items as “The Ten Commandments” from many public areas. (These are not religious items… but rather guidelines that our forefather’s thought would be good to live by) These stone tablets were not and never will be used to force God upon anyone…. But that was the argument used when this change in our culture was made… a violation of whose First Amendment Right?

  • Removing prayer from the Public Educational Institutes. The First Amendment grants us the right to exercise our religion… and that would include the right to pray whenever and wherever we choose! Forcing our religion on the person next to us was the argument used to make it illegal to pray in our Schools… again a change in our culture.

  • We no longer refer to the break in our educational calendar as “Christmas Vacation”, now it’s “Winter Break”. Denying our First Amendment right by forcing us to remove all religious artifacts from public schools (nativity scenes). Were we again forcing God or our religious beliefs on someone? That was the argument used to violate our rights... changing our culture again.

  • American families (and our Government) have celebrated Christmas for many years. Not everyone celebrates it, so we can no longer say "Merry Christmas", now it’s "Season's Greetings" to be politically correct. Again the argument used was forcing God on someone… and again our culture was changed.

We've gone so far the other way, bent over backwards to not offend anyone, that we’ve determined it be illegal to force our Children to recite the “Pledge of Allegiance” because it forces God on someone! What’s next: are we going to change the writing on our currency because it forces God on someone… again changing our culture? Whose first amendment rights are being violated now?
