What Are We Doing?

What are we doing as Christians today? Helping those who need it, feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, or quenching someone’s thirst… Are we setting Christian examples for others to see? Through our actions, words, or lifestyles... Are others able to see Jesus in us? His love, His concern, or even His passion… Are we living a Christian lifestyle or is it just a religious way of life? Attending church when the doors are open, or because it’s what we’ve always done… Complicated questions? Not at all, Jesus provides us with the answer: John 14:12

What are we doing? Do we really have the faith to pick up our crosses and follow our Lord Jesus regardless of the outcome or our personal safety? Are we willing to die for our beliefs? Remember, we have Brother’s and Sister’s around the world, being persecuted, even killed daily for their beliefs... Why, you ask are Christians willing to do this? Why would Christians choose (decided) to pick up the cross and follow Jesus? Because the Lord Jesus Christ has commanded each believer... to fulfill the “Great Commission”... Matthew 28:19-20

What are we doing? Christians today place themselves in harms way of persecution or death because of their faith… knowing they're never alone, for He is always with us... How strong is your faith? Luke 17:6   Remember the boy who was demon possessed? The disciples couldn’t cast out or rebuke the demon. Why not you ask? Jesus responded to their questions with... Matthew 17:20

What are we doing? Christians today are in danger of persecution depending on your location... Look at the news reports, the loss of a life because of one's faith... But the most serious danger that faces Christians today is: that of being confused... led down the wrong path by false teachings and/or false prophets... and conforming to the world. Romans 12:2  Christian’s must not conform to the world; they must stand firmly on the word of God and steadfast in their faith that Jesus Christ is the one and only way to salvation. John 14:6

What are we doing? So we have discovered that faith plays a large role in our Christian walk. We understand a small amount of faith (the size of a mustard seed) is all we need to accomplish anything through Jesus. All we have to do is ask… John 14:13-14  I've realized through my studies of the word of God... that if it's important... God repeats it... Jesus spoke to His disciples: John 16:24  Even before His upcoming death and resurrection Jesus tells His disciples not to worry.. take heed… John 16:23

What are we doing? Are we fitting in conforming to society, the world, are we playing that religious game that so many choose to play? Or are we a light in the darkness, that messenger of hope and love to all in need, standing strong in our faith and upon the Word of God? We as Christians can resist evil desires and that sinful nature when we allow the love of God and Jesus to be that light in our darkness... We must continue to grow in knowledge, our Christian traits and God's  Love...  2 Peter 1:5-7

How do we do that? Acknowledge Jesus Christ as your personal savior... Repent from your sinful nature and sinful ways... because all have sinned... Romans 3:23  Death is the ultimate price for sin...  Romans 6:23  Seek forgiveness of your sins... And invite Jesus into your heart and life.. give Him control over all things... Trusting in the Lamb... whose blood was shed at Calvary on your behalf to pay the price for your sins. Romans 10:9-10

What must we do? We must demonstrate our personal commitment to God by living a lifestyle that reflects Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-10 Is it an easy path to walk? No, the bible tells us that the path is long and narrow... to take heed to stay on the path...

Matthew 17:20 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” He replied: “Because you have so little faith.  2 Peter 1:5-7 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-10 It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy spirit.
